Her husband, Ashok Raj Varikuppala, accused of the crime, quickly fled to Hyderabad, leaving their child with Chaithanya’s parents.

The discovery of Chaithanya’s body found discarded in Buckley, has deeply affected both the local community and beyond. The family had settled in Point Cook, Australia, where they had obtained Australian citizenship.

Upon hearing the distressing news, Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy promptly met with Chaithanya’s parents. At their request, he wrote to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), seeking assistance in repatriating Chaithanya’s remains to Hyderabad. According to the MLA, Chaithanya’s parents informed him that her husband had confessed to the crime, further exacerbating the tragedy.

Victoria Police released a statement confirming the launch of a homicide investigation after finding a deceased individual in Buckley. Another crime scene was identified at a residence in Point Cook, believed to be connected to the murder.

Authorities are treating the death as suspicious and actively pursuing leads, suspecting that the involved parties may have known each other, with the perpetrator potentially fleeing overseas.
