When an aeroplane is taking off or landing, and its tail or empennage hits the ground or another fixed object, this is called a “tail strike.”
The event on June 15 was the second of its kind in just five days. On June 11, an IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Delhi hit its tail when it touched down.
