US: A 21-year-old, Erica Lawson, mother of a 17-month-old was charged with manslaughter and first-degree criminal abuse against a child under the age of 12.
Lawson from Kentucky was arrested on Sunday after her child was reportedly found dead due to injuries that occurred from being sexually assaulted. The 17-month-old girl had signs of physical and sexual abuse, a Bell County Commonwealth Attorney Lisa Fugate told Wate.

On July 28, she was rushed to the hospital where they tried saving her by putting her on life support however she couldn’t survive due to the severity of the injuries.
The child was reported to be raped and beaten and by the time she arrived at the hospital, she was announced brain dead. The Middlesboro Police Department then, started an investigation to find out the responsible person behind the abuse.
The accused was identified and arrested by the police on Sunday night. Meanwhile, the mother of the victim was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and failure to report child neglect. She was held on a $1,000,000.
Another suspect is said to be arrested by the police.
