On Wednesday, the mother allegedly approached high-ranking police officers and threatened to light herself and her children on fire if the suspect was not put into jail.
According to Superintendent of Police Atul Sharma, the woman said that on July 31, criminals broke into her home, assaulted her, and tore off her clothes because she hadn’t resolved a long-standing disagreement.
The woman also charged that the neighborhood cops were standing by and doing nothing. Prateek Dahiya, the Sadar area’s Circle Officer, has been ordered to look into the matter, according to Sharma.
A video of the beating that the villagers had captured was posted on social media.
