Police announced on Wednesday that a 35-year-old woman and her two children, ages 6 and 10, were found dead with their throats cut in Bihar’s Katihar district.
The spouse of the deceased woman was detained by the police on Wednesday due to his alleged involvement in the murder.

According to a police officer, the incident happened on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday at their home in the village of Belaun.
Sadab Zarin Khatoon (35), the wife of Feroz Alam, and their two children Faizan Feroz and Paya Feroz have been identified as the deceased.
According to Katihar Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar, Feroz Alam was detained for his alleged involvement in the crime “based on preliminary investigation and a written complaint filed by the mother of the deceased (Sadab Zarin Khatoon).”
According to Kumar, the deceased’s mother also said that the accused had threatened her daughter with serious consequences in the past. The accused had no interest in hosting Sadab Zarin Khatoon and her kids after his second marriage.
According to the SP, a sharp object was used to kill the woman and her two children, and detectives found the offending weapon at the scene of the crime.
Later that day, Baliya Belon Police Station Station House Officer (SHO) Ravindra Kumar spoke to the media and said, “Feroz Alam claimed that he had attended a Muharram fair nearby and that when he returned, he discovered his wife and two children lying dead in a pool of blood and raised an alarm. His second wife, who was dozing in the adjacent room, insisted she knew nothing about what had happened.
