A 65-year-old principal of a special needs school in Bengaluru has been detained on suspicion of raping a 10-year-old moderately dyslexic girl student.
The principal, who happened to be the girl’s neighbor, allegedly brought her to his house and raped her.

According to police, the incident was discovered when the girl returned home and complained of stomach pain.
The girl arrived home around 3:30 p.m., a bit later than normal, and complained to her mother about her discomfort, they claimed.
Blood stains were discovered on the girl’s clothes by her mother. According to authorities, the girl told her mother about the event when she was bathing her, and the girl’s mother then raced to the Varthur police station and filed a complaint against the principal.
The principal was arrested, according to police, under relevant parts of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (Pocso) Act.
They further stated that the girl was being treated at a private hospital and was in good condition.
