Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Argentina have emerged as strong candidates for the grouping’s membership, he said during a briefing in New Delhi prior to Prime Minister Modi’s travel to Johannesburg. Twenty-three nations have submitted their bids to join the BRICS.
