Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a historic moment on Tuesday by inaugurating 10 Vande Bharat trains from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, signaling a significant advancement in India’s railway infrastructure.

Railway and Petrochemical Projects Worth Over Rs 1,06,000 Crores Unveiled

In a groundbreaking move to boost connectivity and the petrochemical sector, PM Modi visited the DFC’s Operation Control Centre in Ahmedabad. During the visit, he laid the foundation stone and dedicated a series of projects valued at over Rs 1,06,000 crores.

The Prime Minister initiated the construction of Railway Workshops, Loco Sheds, Pit lines/Coaching Depots, and the Phaltan-Baramati New line. Additionally, he upgraded the Electric Traction System and inaugurated two new sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor, enhancing railway connectivity.

Vande Bharat Trains Flagged Off on 10 Different Routes

PM Modi flagged off ten new Vande Bharat trains, linking major cities such as Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central, Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam, and Lucknow-Dehradun. The extension of four existing Vande Bharat trains further expands the network, connecting more destinations across the country.

Freight trains on the Dedicated Freight Corridor were also flagged off, promoting efficient transportation and connectivity. The Prime Minister dedicated 50 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras at railway stations, providing affordable and quality generic medicines.

Infrastructure Upgrades and Digital Initiatives

PM Modi dedicated 51 Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminals, enhancing the movement of goods between transportation modes. He also inaugurated 1045 Rkm of Automatic Signaling, improving safety and efficiency. The digital controlling of railway stations at 2646 locations aims to enhance operational efficiency and safety.

Empowering Local Artisans and Businesses

In a move to support local economies, the Prime Minister dedicated more than 1500 One Station One Product Stalls and 35 Rail Coach Restaurants spread across the country. These initiatives aim to promote local products, generate income for artisans, and provide passenger-friendly services.

To contribute to India’s renewable energy goals, PM Modi dedicated Solar Powered Stations/buildings at 975 locations, reducing the railways’ carbon footprint.

Petrochemical Complex and Ekta Malls for Socio-Economic Development

In a significant economic development move, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a Petrochemicals complex of Petronet LNG in Dahej, Gujarat. The project is expected to create substantial employment opportunities and contribute to the region’s socio-economic growth.

Moreover, PM Modi initiated the construction of Ekta Malls in Gujarat and Maharashtra, supporting traditional skills, handlooms, handicrafts, and local products. These malls are envisioned as symbols of India’s unity in diversity and catalysts for the development and empowerment of traditional sectors.
