20 people have been
killed in rain-related accidents in Himachal Pradesh in the previous 48 hours,
and up to 4,000 crore in damage has been predicted.

Constant rain has
caused flash floods and landslides throughout Himachal Pradesh, leaving many

Martin Wolf predicts that India can be a hotspot for FDI

At the annual India
Policy Forum hosted by the National Council for Applied Economic Research
(NCAER), Martin Wolf, chief economics commentator for the Financial Times,
argued that India could use its privileged position to lead the search for
solutions to the climate, political, and economic challenges that have

Wolf, in a talk titled
“The World in a Polycrisis,” argued that India may establish mutually
beneficial ties with all parties involved in the current crisis. If it worked
really hard, it could replace China as a competitive global provider of goods
and services and become a magnet for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), but it
shouldn’t give in to the temptation of introducing aggressive industrial
policies, Wolf said.

Jammu Amarnath Yatra is suspended for the fourth day

Authorities closed the route on Monday due to severe
damage from constant rains, notably in Ramban district.

Even when the yatra is suspended, pilgrims are

On Monday night, traffic authorities advised that
the government and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had improved
road conditions throughout the day.

Complete restoration may take longer. The
administration has suspended highway traffic for Tuesday, it added.

Officials stated 8,000 pilgrims are trapped in
Jammu, notably at the Bhagwatinagar base camp, due to the yatra suspension.

6,000 pilgrims are stuck in Chanderkot base camp in
Ramban district. Nearly 2,000 pilgrims are stuck in Kathua and Samba.

UN estimates that 415 million people in India have been lifted out of poverty

According to the United
Nations (UN), India’s poverty rate fell dramatically as 415 million people
moved out of extreme poverty.

The estimates of 110
nations were used in the most recent update to the worldwide Multidimensional

According to the UNDP
report, in just 15 years, from 2005-06 to 2019-21, India saw a
significant reduction in poverty, with 415 million people departing from poverty.
Between 2010 and 2014, 69 million Chinese and 8 million Indonesians were
rescued from poverty, respectively.

Within 15 years, MPI
values in as many as 25 nations, including India, have been halved. Cambodia,
China, the Congo, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Morocco, Serbia, and Vietnam are
among these places.

After surpassing China
with 142.86 crore people, India is now the most populated country in the world.

The rate of occurrence

CCTV footage: bus-car crash on Delhi-Meerut Motorway kills six.

Six persons were
murdered on Tuesday when a truck overturned on the Delhi-Meerut Motorway near
Ghaziabad. The details suggest
that a bus and an automobile collided, causing the catastrophe.

An eight-year-old child
was seriously hurt in the incident and rushed to the hospital. The bus driver

A closed-circuit
television camera recorded footage of the incident. Postmortem examinations
were performed on the deceased. RK Kushwaha, the

Jaishankar submits his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha

On Monday, Gujarat
Assembly Speaker CR Paatil and CM Bhupendra Patel witnessed External Affairs

Update on India’s moon mission from ISRO: “Failure-based design in Chandrayaan-3.”

Organisation (ISRO), stated on Monday that Chandrayaan-3 was designed with a
failure-based approach.
