Abhjit Gagopadhyay can join BJP
there have been speculation about Justice Abhjit’s probability to join BJP. The justice has made the decision to join politics just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Justice Abhijit will be resigning from his post on Tuesday 5 Mach and will be reassigning all the pending cases to other judge. He will be handing over his resignation to the president of India. After resigning he will give further updates.
According to media reports, he is in talks with BJP for joining the party. In a media interview he said that he might be joining any party such as BJP or Congress if he is given a ticket.

Shiv sena targets Abhijit Gangopadhyay
Sanjay Raut, a senior leader form Shiv Sena has taunted justice Gangopadhyay for his political aspirations and the influence of his political aspiration on his previous judgements. Sanjay Raut even questioned the authenticity of his work saying that he was working for a party. During media interaction He said “If sitting judges of the High Court and Supreme Court resign and join a particular political party, it means they were not delivering justice, but working for the party.”
Call for conscience
The High Court judge has given certain controversial judgements and has been seen as giving judgements against the current ruling government of West Bengal. During media interaction he said that he will be joining politics as it is a call for his conscious and his contribution in the judiciary will end now. He said “A large number of important persons in the education sector of this government are now languishing in jail, under trial. Thereafter, now I am taking labour matters. There are also large scams of employers concerning provident fund gratuity, etc. I have also passed certain orders in those respects. But what I have failed while doing these matters of labour matters, labour legislation, that I have felt that my job in this duty is over. This is the call of my conscience.”

He further added that he will be working for the larger cause and will go to the larger people. He intends to work for people who helpless people who cannot even reach the court. he intends to join politics to have a direct impact on such people.
