Celebrating Tribal Day at Pramukh Swami Maharaj Nagar.

On the seventh day of the month-long celebrations of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, thousands gathered at Pramukh Swami Maharaj Nagar in Ahmedabad to celebrate “Glorious Tribal Traditions: Celebrating Humanity”, marking Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s relentless efforts in uplifting tribal communities.Despite his advancing age and health conditions, Pramukh Swami Maharaj visited tribal villages regularly. In 1977, he visited 91 tribal villages of the Sabarkantha region amid the sweltering summer heat. In 1979, he toured 95 tribal villages within the Panchmahal and Bharuch regions. He travelled in the tribal villages surrounding Bodeli in 1979, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1992, and 1998. His visits elevated the remote villagers from poverty, illiteracy and addictions and inspired them to progress socially, educationally and spiritually. His work reflected his passion to ensure the continuity of tribal traditions while helping to provide resources for individuals’ social and economic uplift.A

Day 7 : Pramukh Swami Maharaj Nagar

7th Day of the 1 month long celebration at Pramukh Swami Maharaj Nagar was celebrated as “Equality day” along with Pramukh Swami Maharaj and all the dignitaries present at the event. The eminent leaders paid tribute to Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s vision and work of serving society and the world without distinction. He accepted everyone without  considering their caste, creed, education, wealth, or nationality.The programme began at its usual time 5.15pm with prayers and devotional hymns. This was followed by a special tribute from an international orchestra of musicians from around the world, celebrating the lasting legacy of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s efforts in promoting equality and harmony within society. On the third day of the month-long centenary celebrations of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, thousands gathered at Pramukh Swami Maharaj Nagar in Ahmedabad to celebrate “Para-Bhakti Day”, marking Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s pure and singular devotion to God.The evening assembly began with an address by Adarshjivandas Swami, a learned swami of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and the author of the extensive biography of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj. The person, who was devotinal and loved to offer devotinal service, but the only thing was the addition to smoking. After arriving at the Nagar, he would smoke20 cigarettes and consume 20 rajanigandha pans daily, spending around 15,000 rs per month.A swami with whom he was serving encouraged him to work on giving up his addiction. He was eventually able to cut his intake of cigarettes to one or two a day, and on 19 September 2022, the birthday of Mahant Swami Maharaj, he gave up his addiction entirely. Usha Sutaria resident of Long Island, New York, who introduces her self as the student of Pramukh swami, narrates her transformation story after meeting Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Within a few months after shifting to USA after her husband abandoned her when she was seven months pregnant, she met Pramukh Swami Maharaj in her local Mandir and attended his morning Puja, she also narrated how she found calm after the heart breaking experience of betrayal. ‘Pramukh Swami Maharaj Nagar’, the culmination of the five-year centenary celebrations of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, was inaugurated on Wednesday, 14 December in Ahmedabad by PM Narendra Modi in presence of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj.The opening marked the public dedication of the month-long festival spread over 600 acres that include attractions, insightful exhibitions and enlightening programmes that are free to all visitors.Prime Minister Modi and Mahant Swami Maharaj commenced the auspicious inauguration ceremony amid the chanting of Vedic mantras and puja from the Sant Dwar, the majestic 380-foot-wide entrance gate honouring the great sages and saints across the country.
