A Raja refused to recognize India as a country and said in his statement, ‘India was never a nation. Nation means one language, one tradition and one culture. India is not a nation, but a subcontinent.’ Explaining his point, the DMK leader further said that here Tamil is a language and Tamil Nadu is a country. Malayalam is a language and Kerala is a nation. Oriya is also a language and Orissa is a country. All these nations together form India, so India is not a nation or a country, but a subcontinent.

Tamil Nadu also has a culture: A Raja

According to media reports, A Raja made a controversial statement at a meeting held in Coimbatore on Saturday (March 3) during Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin’s birthday. The DMK leader’s controversial statement emerges at a time when DMK minister and Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin’s son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, faced criticism from the Supreme Court for making contentious comments on Sanatan Dharma.

The Supreme Court Discusses Consolidating Cases

Notably, on Monday (March 4, 2024), the Supreme Court stated that the petitioner (Udhayanidhi) is not an ordinary citizen but a politician who should be aware of the consequences. Udhayanidhi had compared Sanatan Dharma to diseases like dengue and malaria, leading to cases filed against him in several states across the country. Subsequently, Udhayanidhi requested the Supreme Court to consolidate all these cases.
