The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued directives for the dismissal of the Home Secretary in six states, specifically Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Additionally, the Secretary of the General Administrative Department in Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh has also faced removal. In another move, the Election Commission has taken steps to replace the Director General of Police (DGP) of West Bengal.

Moreover, the ECI has ousted Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal along with Additional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners. Furthermore, Secretaries from the General Administrative Department (GAD) of Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh, who were functioning within the respective Chief Minister’s Offices, have also been relieved of their duties.
