In Bihar’s Purnia, a 7-month pregnant woman was allegedly murdered by her in-laws for failing to provide a refrigerator as dowry.

Angoori Begum (30), the woman, married Mominat Alam in 2012, and the pair had four children. Angoori was found deceased at her in-laws’ house in Bela Prasadi Bhawanipur while pregnant with her fifth child.
Angoori’s relatives and the police were quickly notified, and they arrived on the scene. Following the incident, Angoori’s in-laws departed their homes.

The woman’s body was sent to Purnia Sadar Hospital and Medical College for an autopsy, and it was discovered that she was seven months pregnant. The body was then turned over to relatives.
According to Surflal Paswan, a police home guard, the woman was battered to death.

Meanwhile, Kaushar Raja, Angoori’s brother, stated, “My sister was murdered for a refrigerator.” Her husband had previously physically attacked her at her in-laws’ place.”
