Finland till date has maintained its position as the “Happiest country” in the world. But ever wondered why? The World Happiness Report which surveys people’s satisfaction with their lives in different countries. The report, compiled by scientists in the United States and based on surveys by the Gallup Institute, asks a nationally representative sample of people how satisfied they are with their lives.
And the result of the survey, Finland, Denmark and Iceland tops the list, where on the other hand Israel is in fourth place this year, with the Netherlands in fifth. Other countries in the top ten include Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg and New Zealand.
If talking about the European countries United States, United Kingdom and France ranked 15th, 19th and 21st respectively. While Finland being the most happiest country, the survey has detected that Afghanistan and Lebanon remained the two unhappiest countries.
What makes the country happy?
The survey conducted to know which country is the happiest and which is not, criteria like the country’s income, health, having someone to count on, having a sense of freedom to make key life decisions, generosity and the absence of corruption are kept in mind which makes the country a good place to live.
