There has been inundation of low-lying areas and destruction of several road links due to Telangana receiving heavy rainfall from the past several days. It has been predicted by the IMD’s Met Centre that a few places in Telangana will receive light to moderate or heavy thundershowers on July 29.

For 31 July, light to moderate or heavy thundershowers has been predicted as well over a few places.
BJP state chief and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said on Friday that the central government is ready for any relief operations for helping the citizens of the state.

The BJP National Vice President DK Aruna has targeted the Telangana Chief Minister KCR by hinting that instead of working on the issues by the heavy rainfall and flood, he is focused on planning strategies for the coming elections.

On Friday, 8 bodies were recovered of the people swept by the flood waters of a rivulet in Mulugu district of Telangana. Even with the ongoing relief operations, incident like this happened, scaring people. It has been said by the Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar that with the respective district administration’s help, around 19,000 people were shifted to a safer district away from the fear of flood.

On Thursday, according to the reports, 12 people swept away in the flood waters while they taken away to a safer district. The police informed that only four of them could managed to themselves. Around 60 people were seen standing on the top of the gram panchayat building clinging to the hopes of getting rescued, as they were cut off from other places due to the collapse of the bridge on the river.

The NDRF team on Thursday couldn’t reach the habitation due to immense flood water. They managed to rescue the stranded people on Friday. People were provided with medical help and they were rescued on boats. Around 600kgs of food packages were provided by the Indian Air Force to the people who took shelters at high grounds.
