IIT Hyderabad recruitment for assistant professor positions : Check notification here

Female candidates are being invited by the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) to apply for assistant professor positions in a number of departments. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements and are interested may apply online at iith.ac.in, the official website. The notification states that the deadline for applications is the 22nd of December.

According to the notification, positions are open in 15 departments:

Computer science & engineering, physics, design, chemical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, biomedical engineering, entrepreneurship and management, biotechnology, chemical engineering, materials science and metallurgical engineering, mathematics, and artificial intelligence.

What is the Age limit for this job profile?

The candidate’s age must be under 35; however, the age limit is loosened for SC candidates up to 40 years old and for OBC/NCL candidates up to 38 years old.

Important points to remember

-Applicants who applied within the last two years may draw attention to how much their resume has improved.

-If an applicant is selected for a face-to-face interview, their domestic airfare in Economy class from their place of residence to their place of return will be reimbursed via the quickest route.

– To support their claim, applicants must submit their application form in the prescribed format along with a valid SC, ST, OBC, or NCL certificate issued by the appropriate authority.

-If a candidate is applying for faculty positions in more than one department, they must submit separate applications.

What is the eligibility requirement and pay scale of this job?

A minimum of three years of post-PhD teaching, research, or professional experience is required for Assistant Professor Grade I (Pay level 12), excluding experience obtained while pursuing a PhD. The candidate must have proven their research abilities through presentations at conferences, publications in reputable journals, and patents.

The minimum salary will be set at Rs. 1,01,500 (Matrix pay level of 12) in accordance with the 7thCPC, along with any allowable allowances. Following three years of commendable service, they could be transferred to Pay Level 13A1.

However, candidates with less than 3 years of post-PhD industrial, research, or teaching experience are eligible to apply directly for Assistant Professor Grade II (Pay level 10/11) positions.

There will be a set minimum basic pay of Rs. 98,200, plus allowances. It also stated that after completing three years of satisfactory post-PhD experience, the applicant may be evaluated internally for the position of Assistant Professor Grade I.
