Near Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district, a woman constable of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and her paramour were arrested for murdering her husband and disposing of his body near Bansur. According to authorities, the couple committed the murder in Delhi and buried the body in Rajasthan to avoid suspicion.
Sanjay Jat, the deceased, was living in Delhi with his wife Poonam Jat, a CRPF constable. Authorities said she was having an unlawful relationship with Ram Pratap, a fellow CRPF constable from Bansur village in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district.
Poonam told Ram Pratap a few months ago that her husband had physically mistreated her and urged Ram Pratap to come to Delhi. As a result, he arrived in Delhi on July 31.
They plotted and executed the murder of Poonam’s husband.
Following the murder, Ram Pratap returned to his village of Bansur and buried Sanjay’s body in a grave near his house.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family reported him missing at the Khoh police station in Rajasthan. The police launched an investigation and questioned Poonam Jat and others thoroughly. According to Khoh police station officer Girraj Prasad, during interrogation, she confessed to the crime and narrated the entire incident.
Ram Pratap was detained from his home on August 4 based on her statement. He told the police where and how he disposed of Sanjay’s body. Accordingly, the police located and collected the victim’s body. As the inquiry proceeds, it has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
Both suspects are currently being questioned by authorities as they attempt to determine the circumstances surrounding the murder.
