On Monday a man took his life by jumping before Delhi Metro’s Najafgarh Station. The victim was identified as 31-year-old librarian Manish Kumar. He was announced dead on the spot, an officer said. The police is said to have received the information at around 9:26 a.m. on Monday. He was a residing in Prem Nagar in Najafgarh. His family was called and CCTV footage was checked.

Kumar was a librarian in Uttrakhand’s Devprayag, married with one daughter, the officer said.
Under Section 174 of the CrPC, inquest proceedings are done and inquiry over the matter is underway, the police said.
According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, the services were back to work in under 15 to 20 minutes.
