Modi Ka Parivaar: Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday made controversial remarks on Prime Minister Modi questioning his ability to target nepotism /parivarvaad on Modi as PM Modi does not have his own children. These offensive personal remarks over the Prime Minister angered BJP and supporters of PM Modi for making comments on PM Modi’s family. In retaliation, PM said millions of countrymen are Modi’s family.
PM said “My life is an open book, 140 crore people of the country are my family. Today, crores of daughters, mothers and sisters of the country are Modi’s family. Every poor person in the country is my family. Those who have no one, they also belong to Modi and Modi belongs to them. They say ‘Nene Modi Kutumbam’ (I’m Modi family).”

After this, BJP saw an opportunity and took it. BJP leaders started changing their names on X by adding “Modi ka Parivaar” in parenthesis. Prominent BJ{P leaders such as Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Smriti Irani, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, all have changed their names on X with adding Modi ka Parivaar(Modi’s family) in parenthesis.
Lalu Prasad Yadav questioning PM
Addressing a public gathering, Lalu Yadav said “Who is this Modi, this Narendra Modi is targeting Nepotism. You should tell since you don’t have children in your family. You tell why don’t you have children in family, these people are fighting for family, you don’t have a family, You are not even a Hindu. When your mother died, every Hindu, as per tradition, shaves his beard and head. Why did you not shave? You only spread hatred in society”.
