Friday, it rained a lot in Mumbai, which caused low-lying areas to flood and stopped traffic in the city and its suburbs.
Heavy rain fell in most of the city and suburbs, which made some low-lying areas in Andheri, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Chembur, and other places flooded.

An official said that because of flooding in Sion in the afternoon, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Ltd changed more than 12 bus lines.
Aside from that, drivers and people on foot had a hard time because floods blocked the Andheri subway. The train company said that trains on the Western, Central, and Harbour lines ran smoothly, but passengers said that the services were running 10 to 15 minutes late.
At 1 p.m., the India Meteorological Department issued a weather warning saying that some places in Mumbai are expected to get moderate to heavy rain over the next three to four hours. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) figures showed that the city got an average of 30 mm of rain in 24 hours ending at 8 a.m., even though there was a warning for heavy to very heavy rain on Thursday.

The average amount of rain that fell in the 24 hours ending at 8 am was 27.50 mm in the island city, 29.90 mm in the eastern suburbs, and 27.49 mm in the western suburbs.
The IMD Mumbai said earlier on Friday that there would be “heavy rainfall in Mumbai and its surrounding areas with potential for very heavy rainfall in isolated places” and that there would be occasional gusts of 45-55 kmph winds for 24 hours.
