40-year-old councillor, Mulaparthi Ramaraju, in Andhra Pradesh’s Aankapalli district is seen hitting himself with a slipper because he wasn’t able to fulfil his election promises to his voters. He did it out of frustration. The video of Ramaraju is being spread all over social media platforms.

He allegedly blamed the civic body officials for their ignorance over civic issues. Ramaraju, a councillor of Narsipatnam Municipality said he tried every way to help keep the promises made to the voters but failed to do so.
He spoke to PTI saying, “It has been 31 months since I have been elected as a councillor but I am unable to solve civic issues like drainage, power, sanitation, roads and other problems in my ward.”
The video of the councillar hitting himself with his slippers and crying over frustration was shared by the Telegu Desam Party (TDP) on their twitter page, where they expressed their disappointment with their councillor saying, “Mulaparthi Ramaraju is the tribal representative of Lingapuram village who won on behalf of the Telugu Desam Party. Even after being in office, he has not been able to install a single tap in the village for 30 months.”
