The town of Azamgarh is buzzing with activity as it readies itself to host Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. The region has intensified security measures in anticipation of the Prime Minister’s visit.
Unveiling Mega Development Initiatives Worth Rs 42,000 Crore
Prime Minister Modi is set to inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for a series of development projects totaling more than Rs 42,000 crore. Among them are 15 airport projects across the country, with a combined value exceeding Rs 9,800 crore.
Airports Get a Facelift
The Prime Minister will inaugurate 12 new terminal buildings at airports in various cities, including Azamgarh. These state-of-the-art facilities boast sustainable features and draw inspiration from the local culture and heritage.
Light House Project: A Step Towards Affordable Housing
Highlighting the government’s commitment to providing housing for all, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Light House Project (LHP) in Lucknow and Ranchi. Over 2000 affordable flats, constructed with innovative technology, aim to offer a sustainable and futuristic living experience.

Boosting Road Connectivity in Uttar Pradesh
In a significant move to enhance connectivity and spur socioeconomic development, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for road projects worth over Rs 19,000 crore. These projects include the Lucknow Ring Road, Chakeri to Allahabad Section of NH-2, and various other key sections.
Addressing the rural infrastructure, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate 744 rural road projects worth more than Rs 3,700 crore. This initiative will see the construction of over 5,400 km of rural roads, benefiting approximately 59 districts in Uttar Pradesh.
Strengthening Rail Infrastructure
With a focus on strengthening the rail network, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for rail projects amounting to around Rs 8,200 crore. This includes the doubling and electrification of key rail sections and the Bahraich-Nanpara-Nepalganj Road rail section gauge conversion.
Inaugurating Sewage Treatment Plants and Other Projects
To address environmental concerns, the Prime Minister will inaugurate multiple sewage treatment plants and other projects in Prayagraj, Jaunpur, and Etawah, showcasing a comprehensive approach to development.
As Azamgarh eagerly awaits the arrival of Prime Minister Modi, these initiatives promise to usher in a new era of progress and development for the region.
