During his visit to Pune, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not only inaugurate two sections of Metro Rail, but also the waste-to-energy facility under Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and 1,280 houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). PM Modi arrived in Pune around 11 am on August 1 and then conducted a puja at the Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir.

Due to the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, some schools and colleges in Peth have decided to close, while others have announced online classes in anticipation of traffic, road closures, and security measures. According to school administrations, they have not received specific instructions from district administration regarding the granting of a holiday. Students and guardians have been requested not to visit campus.
The security detail for Modi’s visit consists of over 5,000 personnel and officers, including Maharashtra’s elite Force One anti-terror operatives. From July 30 to August 2, the Pune police department issued prohibition orders. The police have proclaimed a ban on the use of drones for videography as well as the closure of several main roads and traffic crossings in the city.
