Signature Bridge: Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continuous development work is underway in the country. Not only are development projects being carried out, but their pace is also increasing. Speaking specifically about Gujarat, various schemes and significant projects for the development of historically and tourism-important centers in the state have been implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. One such project is the ‘Signature Bridge’ connecting Okha to Bet Dwarka, which is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project and is now ready.
PM Modi to Inaugurate
The ‘Signature Bridge’ connecting Okha to Bet Dwarka, a dream project of PM Modi, is set to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister during his visit to Gujarat on February 22. According to information, the inauguration of this bridge is scheduled for February 25. The opening of this bridge over the Arabian Sea will enable people to travel between Dwarka and Bet Dwarka by road. Currently, one has to rely on ferryboats to go from Okha to Bet Dwarka, but now, at a cost of 978 crores, this ‘signature bridge’ will facilitate easy movement for the general public between Okha and Bet Dwarka.

Groundbreaking Ceremony in 2017
The length of this signature bridge between Okha and Bet Dwarka is reported to be 2.5 km, with 38 pillars erected in the sea using a sea hawk crane. The bridge holds great significance for local residents as well as pilgrims visiting the prestigious Dwarkadish Temple. Construction of the bridge was initiated by the Center in 2017 with a groundbreaking ceremony. The purpose is to provide a convenient facility for devotees traveling between Okha and Bet Dwarka. Before the construction of the bridge, pilgrims had to rely on ferryboats to reach the Dwarkadhish temple at Bet Dwarka.
Construction Cost: Rs 978 Crore
The cost of constructing this 2.5 km long bridge is Rs 978 crore. The Dwarka signature bridge features a unique design, with footpaths adorned with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna on both sides. It proudly claims to be India’s longest cable-stayed bridge, with solar panels installed above the footpath, generating one megawatt of electricity. The inauguration is eagerly awaited by the local community and pilgrims, as it signifies a significant improvement in the accessibility of the holy Bet Dwarka.
