PM Modi’s Remarks

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi underscored the importance of the event, stating, “Today is an important day for connectivity across India.” He emphasized the inauguration of 112 National Highways across various states, asserting that these initiatives would not only bolster economic growth but also align with the government’s vision of constructing next-generation infrastructure.

Key Features of the Dwarka Expressway

Cost and Construction: The Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway spans a length of 19 km and has been built at an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 4,100 crore. Route and Connectivity: Originating from Shiv Murti near Mahipalpur on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, the expressway traverses through Dwarka Sector 21, the Gurugram border, Basai, and concludes near Kherki Daula on the national highway.

Infrastructure: The expressway boasts an entirely access-controlled, grade-separated 14-lane corridor, featuring four multi-level interchanges, tunnels, underpasses, elevated flyovers, and ground-level road sections.

Innovative Elements: A noteworthy feature is the inclusion of an 8-lane elevated structure alongside India’s first 4 km long 8-lane shallow tunnel near IGI airport. The initial segment of the expressway incorporates an interchange featuring two underpasses beneath NH 48, accommodating a daily traffic volume exceeding 300,000 vehicles.
