As Gujarat’s first patient to have a bilateral lung transplant, Marengo CIMS Hospital congratulates him on his full recovery and bids him farewell as he departs for his home country. Ahmad, a 41-year-old Syrian, had the transplant operation in January 2023 after spending more than three months bedridden due to a worsening Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD, also known as lung fibrosis). Dr. Kumud Dhital, Programme Director for Lung Transplantation, served as the team leader for the lung transplant team that was assembled using the combined experience of Marengo Asia Hospitals, CIMS, and Faridabad.
