60 cases of H3N2 influenza across Odisha in 2 months

 Out Of all the  225 samples collected in January and February in Odisha, 59 were found positive for H3N2 influenza across the state, officials said on Saturday.  Talking about the disease, H3N2 is a non-human influenza virus that normally circulates in pigs and has apparently infected humans too according to the US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.Currently, there is “no definitive treatment available” for the virus and hence, people should “strictly follow the Covid guidelines to keep H3N2 at bay,” Odisha Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra said. An Argentine man who visited the Taj Mahal in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra has tested positive for Covid. The tourist remains untraceable as he gave false information about himself, including his address and phone number.Also read : As Covid cases spike in China, experts ask Indians to stay safe :Chief medical officer, Agra, Dr AK Srivastava, said that the man visited the Taj Mahal on December 26. He was tested for Covid by a team of the health department deployed at the Taj Mahal. His report came back positive on Wednesday.But the Argentine could not be traced. Now, health officials have requested CCTV footage of the entrance gate from the ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) to identify the tourist.Earlier, an Agra man returning from China had tested positive for Covid in the city. Amid rising covid cases cross the world, Union Health Minister requested Rahul Gandhi who is presently busy in Bharat Jodo yatra to follow all the covid related protocols in order to be safe. the Congress hit back at the government on Wednesday, accusing it of selectively targeting its programme.In a letter addressed to Rahul and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday, Mandaviya wrote: “Please ensure that in the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra in Rajasthan, all Covid-19 guidelines are strictly followed, masks and sanitizers are used, and only those vaccinated against Covid-19 participate.
