In her budget speech for the year 2023-24 Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaram purposed the setting up of the National Digital Library for Children and Adolescents. The library will avail the facility of quality books across geographies, languages, genres, and levels and device-agnostic accessibility.She said that states will be encouraged to set up physical libraries for them at panchayat and ward levels and also provide infrastructure facilities for accessing the resources from National Digital Library.Finance Minister in her speech mentioned,” to build the culture of reading and make up for the loss of learning during the pandemic, National Book Trust and Children’s Book Trust will be encouraged to provide and replenish non-curricular titles in regional languages and English to these physical libraries.”NGOs that are working in the education sector will also be part of this initiative. Also to develop financial literacy, financial sectors, and organizations will be asked to provide age-
