Top star and Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan on Sunday said he would take part in the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on December 24 in Delhi.According to the party, Haasan, addressing office bearers in Chennai, said he has been invited by Rahul Gandhi to participate in the Yatra. Ramdas Athawale, the Unionminister of state for social justice and empowerment, Sunday said his party has no issues with the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan except for the use of the phrase, ‘Besharam Rang’, in a song of the movie. Speaking to media in Pune, the chief of the Republican Party of India (Athawale) said: “We don’t have any problem with Pathan except that it uses the phrase, ‘Besharam Rang’, in a song for the saffron color. Saffron is not only the color of the BJP or the Shiv Sena, but it’s the color of the clothes that Gautam Buddha wore. About 2,500 years ago, it emerged as a colour of peace. Hence it is also an insult to Buddhism. If they don’t remove the word, besharam, our party will also agitate against the film. Always known because of her Political career, Pratibha Patil is today celebrating her 88th birthday. Lets know about her life journey.Patil earned a master’s degree in political science and economics at Moolji Jaitha College, Jalgaon, and later received a law degree from Government Law College, Mumbai (Bombay). She joined the Indian National Congress (Congress Party) and entered politics in 1962 as a member of the Maharashtra legislative assembly. While there, she held the portfolio of public health and social welfare and distinguished herself for her loyalty to her party. In 1985 she won a seat in the Rajya Sabha (upper chamber of the Indian parliament), and she served as deputy chairman of that body from 1986 to 1988. Patil left the upper house in 1990 and was elected to represent Amravati in the Lok Sabha (lower house) in 1991.
