Prayagraj court pronounced mafia turned politician Atiq Ahemed and his brother Ashraf in the Umesh Pal Kidnapping case. While on the other hand, Supreme Court now rejected the plea by jailed Atiq Ahmed for protection during his UP police custody. But SC granted the liberty to him in order to approach High Court for protection over his claim that his life is under threat.Other than the Umesh Pal kidnapping case, both the brothers are also accused in the involvement of in a conspiracy, they both were in jail in case of Umesh Pal’s murder. Ahead of state’s election, Karnataka government on Friday announced that the reservation given to minorities including Muslims would now be added to the present quota for the dominant communities across the state.That means the 4% reservation given to the Muslims under OBC Section would now be divided amongst the 2 major communities across the state which are Lingayats and Vokkalingas.  2 new reservations under the C and 2D were created during the Belagavi Assembly Session last year.Now the state’s cabinet has decided to being the religious minority community under the EWS category.
