India ready to bid for 2036 Olympics : Anurag Thakur.

Recently, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur made it clear that India will be biding for Olympics in 2036. While sharing his vision Thakur said that a road map would be presented by the government before the full members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during the IOC session in Mumbai in September 2023.The roadmap will be prepared in consultation with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Thakur said. Thakur stated that if India was able to successfully host the G20 Presidency, then the government would be able to work with the Indian Olympic Association to bid for hosting the Olympics. he further said, “We all know that the slots are booked till 2032. Mira Bai Chanu Brings home Silver Medal : Despite having wrist issue.

Indian weightlifter, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, has won a silver medal at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championship after defeating China’s Hou Zhihua in the competition being held in Colombia.The star weightlifter bagged the silver medal despite a wrist injury. The former world champion had hurt her wrist during a training session in September. The 28-year-old had also participated in the National Games that was held in October. The athlete took to her Twitter account to express her gratitude following the victory. In a tweet where she posted her pictures from the championship, she said that she was extremely humbled and grateful for the victory.
