Green tape with the phrases “crime scene do not cross” has been used to fence off a coal furnace in an open field. The furnace is obscured by soot and charred charcoal, and the locals who have gathered there steal peeks at it.

According to the police, it is the location in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district where a 14-year-old girl’s body was burned on August 2 after she was allegedly gang-raped and slain.

Police, forensic teams, and hundreds of incensed locals have all visited the furnace where the girl’s bones and jewelry were found in the four days since the event.
The incident has led to intense outrage both within and outside of the state. Outside of the closest police station, protesters, including BJP opponents, have been dharna-sitting. Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, announced on social media on Saturday that seven people had already been detained in connection with the case.

Loud wailing can be heard coming from the victim’s home, which is about a kilometer distant from the furnace. Her parents are frequently in tears and inconsolable.

The local policeman, whom the family claims did not act quickly, is also the target of their ire.
He claimed that she used to take her goats to the field where nomads had erected their furnaces every day to feed.

He stated that on the day of the occurrence, “The girl and her mother had gone to the field to feed goats. Her mother visited her parents’ residence nearby in the afternoon. When she came back, she looked for the girl but couldn’t find her. She questioned the nomads who had been camped out, but they were unable to provide an adequate response. She then returned home in the hopes that her daughter had left again.

Concerned, the family dispatched the girl’s cousin to the neighborhood police station to file a missing person report after the girl still hadn’t returned home, even late in the evening.
The family and demonstrators are now strongly criticizing how the police handled the situation at the time.

“On August 2, she was still gone by the time it was getting dark, so I went to the police station to file a missing person report. Her ration card and Aadhaar card were in my possession. However, the police did not record our report and instead requested documentation of the girl’s age, including her school transcripts and other official documents, according to the relative.

“We noticed after midnight that a fire had been started in one of the coal furnaces that had not been operational in the morning.” When we went there and spoke to the nomads, they did not communicate adequately with us. I then drew some of the material out of the furnace using a stick. “I saw bones,” the cousin added.

The cousin, stunned and terrified, dialed the uncle’s number.
“At first, I didn’t trust him since I couldn’t imagine such a thing happening. “When I asked him to look around the furnace, he discovered the girl’s bangles,” the uncle explained.

The wives of the two accused have also been detained, according to Ajmer Range IG Lata Manoj Kumar, with one of the wives being a juvenile.
“The ASI has been suspended following the discovery of the Assistant Sub Inspector’s negligence who was on duty when the information was first given to the police station. “After witnessing the SHO’s (Station House Officer) supervisory negligence, I have also ordered his suspension,” the IG informed reporters.

Local locals, together with the BJP and Gujjar community leader Vijay Bainsla, sat on a dharna outside the police station.
Late Sunday, Bhilwara Collector Ashish Modi announced that the protesters had consented to end their dharna after the district government pledged to submit the challan (chargesheet) in the matter within 15 days.

According to the uncle, the family is seeking “Rs 1 crore in compensation, a government job for one family member, and the death penalty for the accused.”

On Sunday, a four-member BJP MP committee appointed by party president J P Nadda to conduct an investigation into the event arrived in Bhilwara and spoke with the victim’s family. Saroj Pandey, Rekha Verma, Kanta Kardam, and Locket Chatterjee are the four MPs.

Police have charged the suspects with gang rape and murder and charged them under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. According to the inquiry, four women, including the wives of the two accused of gang rape, assisted in the burning of the victim’s body in the furnace.

Collector Ashish Modi stated that those responsible for the crime would be held accountable and justice would be served quickly.
“The primary demand of the protesters was that the accused be apprehended.” The majority of those charged have been apprehended. The desire for an expedited investigation was likewise met, and culpable officials were held accountable. So the basic requirements have been met. Now, taking into account the regulations and provisions surrounding compensation, that will also be completed soon,” the Collector stated.

Chief Minister Gehlot announced on social media Saturday that seven people had been arrested in the case and that “strict punishment” would be meted out to the culprits.
“Rajasthan is a state that takes swift action when such incidents occur, and it has set a record for apprehending perpetrators.” “Police will continue to act impartially in the future,” Gehlot stated in his tweet.
