Renowned Bollywood actor Vidya Balan has filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the Mumbai Police against an unknown individual responsible for creating a fraudulent Instagram account in her name. The imposter reportedly used the fake account to request money from unsuspecting individuals, promising them job opportunities.

Fake Account Misuses Vidya Balan’s Identity
The Mumbai Police disclosed that the culprit crafted an identical Instagram ID to Vidya Balan’s official account, reaching out to people associated with the Bollywood industry through this fraudulent profile. The imposter allegedly exploited the situation by assuring individuals of job opportunities in exchange for monetary transactions.
FIR Registered Under IT Act
Khar Police has initiated legal proceedings by registering an FIR under Section 66 (C) of the Information Technology (IT) Act. Vidya Balan, with a significant online following, became aware of the fraudulent activity and promptly reported the matter to the Mumbai Police.
Vidya Balan’s Response
Expressing her concern, Vidya Balan took to her official Instagram stories to inform her followers about the unauthorized use of her name. This incident has created a serious issue for the actor, who is widely appreciated for her work and engagement with fans through videos and reels on her official Instagram account.
Ongoing Police Investigation
The Mumbai Police is actively investigating the matter based on Vidya Balan’s complaint. The actor’s quick response and cooperation with law enforcement underline the severity of the situation and the potential harm caused by the impersonation.
Vidya Balan Joins ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ Franchise
In other news, Vidya Balan is set to make a return to the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ franchise, reprising her role as Manjulika. Actor Kartik Aaryan, who leads the third installment, welcomed Vidya on board for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.’
The franchise, known for its psychological horror-comedy, has been well-received, and the upcoming release is anticipated to bring a fresh dose of laughter and thrill to the audience.
The third part of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa,’ directed by Anees Bazmee, is scheduled to hit the screens this Diwali.
