The Epic victory in the Battle of Laungewala was celebrated as “Parakram Diwas” in order to observe the 51st anniversary. The day was celebrated at the Laungewala War Memorial and Jaisalmer Military Station on 05 December 2022. Talking about the Ran Bhoomi Sharddhanjali, it is a joint venture between Indian Army, Military Veterans, Tourist Operators and Tourism Department of Govt of Rajasthan, which is intended to provide a golden opportunity to the tourists in Rajasthan to visit the famous battle grounds in deserts and they could also pay them homage. This is also intended so that The tales of bravery will be narrated by the veterans who have participated in the operations.

This initiative will also help in order to create a good amount of awareness and also will help in employment generation of the people living nearby. By appreciating the initiative taken by the Indian Army, the Govt of Rajasthan agreed to undertake a MoU with Army to maintain the Laungewala War Memorial on regular basis and create public amenities at these locations.
As Jaisalmer Military station being the part of the initiative, a show case of all the weapons was displayed in order to show the future readiness of the Indian army regarding any battle. The weapons included indigenous tanks, artillery guns and modern equipment. The audience was so much proud and was left spell bounded after recognizing all these things.
Lt Gen Rakesh Kapoor also interacted with the Veer Naris and Veterans including the ones who participated in the historic battle of Laungewala. Video messages of War Veterans who could not attend the function in Jaisalmer, were played wherein they gave out their experiences of the war. The programme concluded with the National Anthem and the resounding chant of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
